FAQ
Everything people ask before they order. If your question isn't here, email support@velvetandsolace.com — a person answers.
What paper do you print on?
180 gsm archival fine art matte paper. It has a soft, non-reflective surface that holds detail without glare, and it is thick enough not to curl in a frame. It is not thin poster stock.
Where are the prints made?
Every print is made to order in the USA and dispatched from there with tracking. Nothing sits in a warehouse.
Which size should I pick?
For above a sofa, aim for a piece about two-thirds the width of the sofa. For a gallery wall set, measure the whole block of frames rather than one frame. Our sizing guide works through the numbers.
Are frames included?
No. Prints arrive unframed and rolled in a tube. Every size uses a standard ratio, so off-the-shelf frames fit without a custom framing bill.
My print arrived curled. Is that normal?
Yes — prints ship rolled. Lay it flat under a few heavy books overnight before framing and it will settle.
How long will it take to arrive?
Production takes 2–10 business days, then 2–5 days in transit. You get a tracking number the moment it leaves the print house. The exact estimate for your address is shown at checkout.
Do you ship to my country?
We sell to 43 countries across North America, Europe, Asia-Pacific and the Middle East. If your country appears in the country selector at the top of the page, we ship there.
Will I pay customs or import tax?
Prints are dispatched from the US. Orders delivered outside the US may attract import duties, taxes or customs handling fees on arrival. These are set by your own customs authority, are not included in the checkout total, and are paid by the recipient.
What does shipping cost?
From $6.79 in the US, $12.59 in Canada, $14.99 in the EU and $11.49 elsewhere, plus a smaller amount for each additional print. The exact figure for your basket is calculated at checkout before you pay.
Do the prints in a set arrive together?
Yes. All five are printed in the same run on the same stock and ship as one delivery, so the tones match.
Can I return it?
Yes — within 30 days of receiving your order, in original unused condition. For a change of mind the return postage is yours; if the print arrives damaged or wrong, we cover it. Full detail is in the refund policy.
The colours look different on my screen. Which is right?
Screens are backlit and paper is not, so a print always reads a little softer than a monitor. We colour-manage every file for matte paper. If the piece arrives clearly wrong, send a photo and we will sort it.
